An adaptation of the horn quartet, it was written for a good friend. Originally written for a senior recital, "To Higher Peaks" lives as a testament to the best of what the horn has to offer and now the strengths of a brass quintet. The composer was artistically inspired by the Rocky Mountains and the development matches the climb it takes to scale one. Written at a level for many skill sets and ages, "To Higher Peaks" hopes to push performers to their next level of playing and it is dedicated to a teacher who does just that.
