11 years ago, my mother was diagnosed with a slow terminal illness. Those past 11 years of illness have felt like a constant back and forth between grieving and thankfulness. A grieving for the mother I once had who I know will not come back, and thankful for a mother that is still here in this world with my family. Throughout this time, a constant thought has also come to my mind; What comes after she is gone?
